Hello and Thank you for your interest in my ad:
I am a Toronto Singer/Songwriter looking for a female vocalist to form a pop/folk act. I want to perform at small night clubs, restaurants and community events. I play acoustic guitar. I also have experience producing music and have performed in many bands as a drummer, keyboardist, singer and guitarist.
My influences include: Sarah McLachlan. Jann Arden, Amanda Marshall and The Beatles.
I also have a recording studio and wish to record original material with the act. The vocalist must be able to sing harmonies and be willing to perform originals. I also am working on independent music videos and want a vocalist who would like to act and appear in them too. You must also want to have fun and be excited about performing music. If interested, please submit a brief outline of your experience and a picture. If you have a website with your music, send me a link.
I hope to hear from you. Yours truly, Vince Ravon.

Humber College Guitar Audition Lessons

Planning on auditioning for the Humber College Music Program (or the jazz programs at York and U of T)? Why not take lessons from someone who just graduated from the program and knows exactly what to expect at the audition and the years to come.

I recently graduated with honours from Humber College’s Jazz Program as a guitar player. While at Humber, I had the opportunity to study with some of the best teachers there and played in one of the top ensembles, which performed at a prestigious music conference. I was also featured, along with my original music, for an hour long show, Jazzology, on Jazz FM. I now have several groups of my own and gig and teach regularly.

Each year, less than a quarter of all applicants get accepted into the Guitar Department at Humber College, so why not give yourself an edge by studying with someone who knows all the teachers well, and knows exactly what to expect at the rigorous audition.

During the lessons, we will cover all aspects of the audition, including the challenging chord/melody arrangement. I will also help you prepare for the theory written exam (a key part of the audition).

(Home Lessons are available for $50). Best of all my students have FUN! I am a graduate of both the RCM and Humber School of Music with 12 years teaching experience (children and adults). Your music education is my focus (not forcing you to take unneeded lessons to make a few extra dollars). Many unethical instructors will hold you back to make an extra $50 a month. Your satisfaction is my goal and you pay as you go and you are welcome to leave if you think you can learn better or faster somewhere else. Give me a try and you might see why less than 2% of my students leave! But please call since I don't often get access to a computer to check emails. Thank you for reading my ad! Cheers!- Michelle. RUBEN DIAZ BIO

Ruben Diaz is possessed of flamenco roots that are embedded in his family. Indeed, his father, Luis Chavarría, was a student and a disciple of Andrés Segovia.

So, quite naturally, it was his farther who first introduced an eight-year-old Ruben to his icon, Paco de Lucía. Ruben’s youthful enthusiasm and relatively untutored efforts were disciplined soon thereafter when he commenced formal studies with the renowned Argentinean classical guitarist, Manuel López Ramos, from whom Ruben obtained a solid foundation in classical guitar technique. Thereafter, he became deeply involved in flamenco music and culture with the gipsy community of southern Spain which, in turn, led back to what was to become a longstanding and close association with Paco de Lucía who has been both Ruben’s example and preceptor for nearly two decades.

I'm looking for members or an already started band to join or form. I have been messaging on here for a quite a bit, lots of responses but no one fallows through whatsoever. Punk rock, Hardcore, Pop Punk, Skate Punk, whatever in the punk genres, I'm all ears I listen and can play pretty much everything. (not so much street punk anymore though). I have some band experience and some live experience. Ive been playing guitar for quite a few years and I can be very creative. A 3 piece or even 4 piece band would be mint. I have good equipment (not that it really matters) Prs guitars, Marshall tube stack and all sort of other crap. I want to start jamming ASAP. I mean this week/next week. Want to start/join a dedicated band, that will spend lots of time playing, jam min 2wice a week. Reply if your serious and down for some good ol punk and some cold beer.

Cheers!

Singer needed!

posted: November 18, 2009, 05:35 PM

Replyclick here

Seriously serious signer needed for original material. Mid 20's - 30 years of age preferred. First and foremost...a strong passion for music is a MUST! If you're in it solely for free booze and slutty chicks, please disregard this post.

Live experience is also a must; we need to wow the crowds with our combined live competence! This is a serious endeavor pointing towards making music an everyday, professional career. Time is of essence, and we're not getting any prettier or younger.

Below is a link to SOME of the proposed material. Although I am not a singer by trade, the singing was attempted by myself. I couldn't physically attain what I hear in my noggin; what I hear is a mixture of Brandon Boyd, Scott Weiland, Lajon Witherspoon, Eddie Vedder, Dave Grohl etc. But needless to say, your voice should be original enough to be recognized and stand out on its own. Any type of audio/video you may have of yourself doing your thing would be an advantage. If you don't, but then again seem confident and eager enough to be heard singing one on one with a dude and his acoustic guitar, there'll be an audition in your near future!

Enough said...please check out the songs, if you like them enough to call them your own and see yourself giving them more life with your impeccable pipes , please contact me through this posting.
