Queen's Park (south)
11:00 AM, Monday, May 21

Join the call for a citizenship oath to Canada, not to occupants of a palace in England. This rally will be lead by citizens who have taken legal action to change our current oath to the monarch, her heirs and successors.

EVERY Canadian--whether you've taken the oath or not--and every prospective Canadian ought to be concerned. Ottawa insists on deflecting our newest citizens' patriotic zeal to a person overseas--the leader of a church--to whose office no Canadian can aspire.

It's undemocratic. It's foreign. It's a violation of Charter rights. It's un-Canadian.

The day before the rally. the Prince of Wales will preside over a ceremony at which prospective Canadians will pledge their fealty to his mother in order to join our national family.

Raise your voice to tell the government it is Canada which deserves the devotion of its citizens, not a monarch in Britain.
