We have an adorable newborn female miniature schnauzer puppies up for aoption (the litter was 7 females and 2 males but the rest have been claimed). They will be ready to go to their new homes in mid-January and will need their shots at that time.Their tales and ears have been left natural (undocked/uncropped).

We are not breeders or a puppy mill - this was an accidental pregnancy (no papers for the puppies!). The mother and father were both purebred. The puppies are all very healthy. The mother has silver wavy fur and the father had mostly black straight hair with silver beard and paws. Both also very healthy and from good, solid stock.

We are now taking deposits on the pup to secure your choice. $75 now and $125 when you pick your puppy up (cash or email transfer is fine). When the puppies are a little older (late December), you will be welcome to visit and pick yours out (they will have coloured ribbons around their necks to tell them apart). First come, first serve of course. At that time you can also visit the mother.



We do not want visitors until mid December primarily because the puppies immune systems not developed and the mother is more apt to be very protective at this stage and would not take kindly to strangers in the home. We also want to ensure the puppies health in the next critical week or two, especially when dealing with the smallest puppies (the "runts"). At any rate, there is little point in seeing them until their eyes and ears open and they can walk and play. They will all look the same for a while as schnauzers are born with a black coat that slowly changes so the colour they are now would be misleading.

Miniature Schnauzers are a very friendly, warm, affectionate and loyal dog. They have wonderfully expressive faces and love to cuddle and sit by you. They make great guard dogs warning you when a stranger is near but are also amazingly gentle and patient with children. They do need attention and exercise and love to play. They do not shed if kept properly groomed and are considered to by hypo-allergenic. They benefit from crate training and are quick to be housebroken.

The images attached were taken two years ago (this is the mothers second and last litter as she will be spayed in the new year to avoid this situation again!)

On a side note - Please, no purely social calls, email or visits from well-meaning people that don't intend to purchase/adopt a puppy; and please no unsolicited advice on taking care of puppies or dogs in general. We are responsible experienced dog owners and have been for many years, and having been through puppies before we do know the ropes. It is has been surprising how many self-appointed experts feel the need to scan these online classifieds and give total strangers a piece of their minds!

A News investigation has uncovered what appears to be the appalling treatment of animals being killed for their fur in China.

The investigators filmed animals that were kicking and writhing as workers ripped their skin from their bodies. If the animals struggled too much, workers stood on the animals' neck Or they beat the animals' heads with knife handles until the creatures stopped moving.

It's also a very slow process, and they usually start from the feet(paw)-up, giving the animal plenty of time to endure the pain. After their fur was peeled, the animals' bodies were tossed into a pile like so much trash, Most still alive, breathing in ragged gasps and blinking slowly. One investigator recorded a skinned raccoon dog, tossed onto a heap of carcasses; it had enough strength to lift its bloodied head and stare into the camera.
