Purpose of Job
Reporting to the VP, Operations Technology, the Senior Solutions Architecture is responsible for establishing and maintaining the solution architecture vision and technical roadmaps for all businesses within the Global Business Operations group. This new role is designed to serve a global mandate focused on reducing technical complexity, operational efficiency and risk reduction to support the Global Business Operations mandate lead by the EVP, Operations
Key Job Accountabilities
1. With a global mindset, understand business objectives and priorities and lead the architecture and design of all new technology solutions
:Gather, aggregate and prioritize needs from across Scotiabank's Business Operations teams
:Establish strategic technology solution architectures across all domains (application, data, infrastructure) that focus on improving operational efficiency, reduce operating risk and deliver quality service
:Provides Solutions Architecture, Design and estimation for strategic initiatives and transformation programs across the portfolio ensuring we are leveraging enterprise assets
:Partner with solutions providers and internal service delivery groups to ensure solutions align with Scotiabank's enterprise architecture vision and security standards (eg. Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, CISO)
:Provide solution and product innovation input into the Scotiabank IT Strategy
2. Develop and maintain Strategic Technology Roadmaps and ensure that Scotiabank maximizes the value received from its technology investments
:Establish the long:term (3:5 years) technology vision for Global Business Operations and work with Enterprise Architecture to contribute to the development of the Bank's reference architecture
:Clearly communicate the technical vision and roadmap to Senior leaders of the bank
:Act as Scotiabank's Operations Technology expert-play an active role in understanding industry trends and new technologies, and provide leadership in driving cost and risk reduction thru innovative technology solutions
:Work with strategic suppliers to ensure that Scotiabank benefits from leading industry practices and technologies
:Manage Operations Technology's innovation spending-ensure that Proofs of Concept projects are well:governed and lead to value for the Bank
:Works directly with development teams to ensure solutions are implemented and deployed as designed providing hands:on training and coaching where necessary
3. Establish and maintain architectural standards for Operations Technology and ensure alignment of Enterprise Architecture
:Is the single point of contact to Enterprise Architecture and ensures alignment with Enterprise Architecture standards, practices and expectations
:Builds and leads a team of solutions architects, is responsible for coaching and skill development
:Works collaboratively with in:Country architects ensuring technical alignment of approach both strategically and tactically
:Sets and maintains and audits for compliance, the technical policies and standards for voice, network, desktop and infrastructure for the CTO organization as a whole
:Assess technology currency and to develop improvement plan
Skills, Experiences and Functional Competencies
:Excellent communications and relationship skills
:Highly skilled and knowledgeable in complex technology environments
:Fifteen years of IT leadership experience in high:volume, complex, customer:oriented IT environment
:Good understanding of cloud technologies and practical experience in implementing an asset
:Good understanding of banking business applications
:Keen interest in new and emerging technologies
:Fluent in Spanish (oral and written) preferred
:Ability to influence at the senior management level
:Ability to manage and develop team of senior professionals
