You are absolutely right about training cd’s. The information is too general. Even if you were able to figure out which exercises were good for your voice, you could not do them and also listen to yourself at the same time anyway. They are great as a low cost option to test out the waters before investing more into yourself, but overall what they offer is limited at best.

A Technical Diagnostic / Assessment is always the best way to find out what your voice really needs. We often do things that have no benefit for us. This will keep you from doing that in the future. Before you do any vocal work, such as vocal scales, you need to be sure you are not doing things that may reinforce inconsistencies or cause you to form bad habits. The voice can damage easily. It is important to know what you are doing, why you do what you do, and get a good foundation for anything you do vocally, including singing your song, off on the right foot.

I teach live in person at my office or on Skype (if you prefer home learning).

All my coaching is based on my medical/healthcare background and my training as a singing Vocal Coach, so it has two sides to it. I think both are necessary to train the voice properly.

Be sure to say hello on my new Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/DonnaFlynnVocalCoach/ I’d love to hear from you!
