Job Title: Senior Project Manager, Data Centre and Cloud
Reports To: Senior Director, Data Centre and Cloud
Department: Data Centre and Cloud Operations
Reporting to the Senior Director, Data Centre and Cloud, the Senior Project Manager will occupy a critical position in which they will show leadership in managing multiple large scale infrastructure projects. The Senior Project Manager will also assist the network administrators and service platform team to define the scope and deliverables for all infrastructure and rationalization projects which are vital to the growth of the business. Active participation in the design, delivery and management of these projects to ensure quality services are delivered on:time is a critical component of this role. This position involves building strong relationships across the organization and direct contact with clients and vendors is required.
The Senior Project Manager uses their skills to manage the relationship with their peers and monitors the performance of teams throughout the project. The focus is on the management of the project and managing escalations with senior employees when required.
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for engagement with other teams, managing conflict and negotiations to ensure stakeholder satisfaction is maintained by structuring and managing projects from inception to completion. This role has the responsibility of assembling projects teams across the business to execute on projects that deliver tangible business benefits.
-Manage the relationship with the project stakeholders throughout the project duration and act as the primary point of contact for the sponsor and project team.
-Establish strong working relationship with PMO and other project managers to ensure resource utilization is maximized.
-Keep PMO, Program and Portfolio Managers informed at agreed frequency and ensure project risks are communicated effectively to the project team with tracked issues managed with high urgency.
-Establish the processes with the PMO to support the delivery of project deliverables. This includes project initiation, project planning; defining the project schedule and work breakdown structure, and defining deliverable acceptance and reporting procedures. Project initiation also includes validating scope, conducting project kickoff and agreement on deliverables with project stakeholders.
-Ensure that any services delivered by a vendor conform to what has been contractually agreed and monitoring the delivery of said services against agreed schedule, quality, scope and budget.
-Manage human resource planning and addressing project team performance issues with functional managers.
-Manage the financial aspects of contracts with any vendors involved in the project (billing for services, following:up on payments, etc).
-Define in advance the acceptance criteria for each project deliverable, work with the team to establish delivery dates project milestones, and oversee the review of deliverables to ensure they meet acceptance criteria, securing sign:off on each deliverable as defined in the project management plan.
