The Regional Business Manager will have direct accountability for the regional sales function for the Ethicon and DePuy Synthes franchises. Leading, developing and managing the sales team, including management of sales agent relationships, this position is responsible for the expansion of sales, attaining and forecasting within the region, and enabling positive business outcomes in the region.

Major Responsibilities:

• Deliver on both top line and regional profitability targets as established in the business plan
• Define and execute long-term business growth strategy that drives increased sales, market share, and/or market growth opportunities
• Gain market insights through interaction with customers, consumers, payors, regulators and industry experts; develop a deep understanding of problems, needs, and translate into possible solutions
• Collaborates across MD, and integrates SME to deliver on customer priorities
• Contributes to investment strategy decision making
• Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and execute one comprehensive marketing plans for Ethicon and DePuy Synthes including but not limited to pricing decisions
• Analyze macro environment, competitive landscape, market, industry, and economic trends to identify and evaluate opportunities for introduction of new products and value to the marketplace, multi-generation pipeline growth, increased revenue, and market growth
• Review and manage portfolio relative to market demand and allocate resources according to greatest opportunities for growth
• Analyze and report sales results against forecast to senior management as well as any adjustments made to business plans to ensure objectives are met
• Establish and maintain relationships with key customers in both the clinical and administrative sides of the business
• Lead and develop Product Specialists to ensure success of delivering annual business plan
• Monitor service levels and sales activity and make changes or additions to the sales force as needed
• Possess in-depth understanding of competitors' strategies, services, and products and anticipate their next moves
• Establish sales goals and forecast
• Manage regional departmental cost center to stay within budget
• Monitor business progress, identify key learnings and initiate indicated actions as necessary
Actively participate in all regional tendering and pricing proposal responses
• Develop and propose innovative strategies and approaches to demonstrate the Ethicon and DePuy Synthes value proposition


Qualifications
Knowledge & Competency Requirements:

• 4 year university degree in Business/Marketing or a related field is required
• Strong medical sales experience and deep knowledge of the Sales function at a strategic level gained through 5 + years of progressive experience
• Marketing or Market Development experience of 3+ years an asset
• 3+ years of sales manager/leadership and people management experience
• Experience in Medical Devices industry; experience in Key Account Management or Commercial Management role
• Ability to travel 60% of the time is required
• French/English bilingualism an asset
• Excellent knowledge of the Orthopaedic/Neurosurgery and Ethicon market, (Products, HCP’s, KOL’s, Buying groups, etc.)

• Strong financial analytical skills necessary to develop sales plans and strategic agreements with major customers and Product Specialists
