Based in Toronto, Ontario you will manage the Training Department by leading the annual review and updating training plans, as well as executing them for CSAs, CTOs, QCTOs. You will manage all activities needed to carry out the hiring plan, training and qualifications in coordination with the customer's growth projections. You will develop and launch new training for operational/equipment changes. You will also, launch non:technical training development for operators and supervisors/managers. You will coordinate refresher/recertification training.
In your role you will:
: Evolve and maintain a strong relationship with the customer to accomplish complaint resolution, perform operational review and build up a business strategy;
: Develop and promote engagement with direct reports, you will sett direction/tasks to them;
: Closely monitor audit plans/requirements for Customer Service Supervisors: riding plans/check rides/training initiatives with Training Supervisors;
: You will promote and strength the Performance Management Process (PMP) for all;
: You will built engagement with blue collar employees: commendations, coaching, promoting safety, carry out policy/procedure changes, promoting the attendance, discipline and return to work;
: You will plann, schedue, develop inter:departmental relationships (crewing, maintenance, operations), classroom training facilitation, recruitment/hiring activities.
: You will monitor the progress of trainees for qualification.
: You will be up to date in regard to training standards;
: You will set and monitor return to work training for employees who have missed significant time.
As our ideal candidate:
: You hold a Bachelor Degree in a related field with combined experience in Adult Training;
: You must possess your Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) accreditation;
: You have from eight (8) to ten (10) years of training experience including training plan development and executing mainly in the Railway,Transportation or heavy industry;
: You hold minimum five (5) years of experience in Supervisory/Management positions;
: Your English communication skills are excellent both written and spoken; French and other languages will be considered as an asset;
: You demonstrate qualities of leadership;
: You have the ability to influence others;
: You are capable to develop others;
: Your have strong communication skills.
