Purpose of Job:
The Director is responsible for supporting the Vice President in achieving IS and C strategic and tactical goals through various processes including:
:Ensuring the operations and availability of critical security and bank infrastructure technologies such as external email, internet proxies, IDS/IPS, Security Incident and Event Management systems, endpoint security technologies.
:Ensuring currency of technical solutions under management, including patching and developing product roadmaps to ensure the bank makes maximum use/investment of security technologies.
:Participation in Computer Incident Response Team processes, and providing advice and solutions to assist in the elimination or containment of security incidents.
:Managing a diverse team of technical resources to aid in the support of technology operations.
To achieve this, the incumbent will direct a team of IT Security Managers and professionals, effectively managing and supervising departmental and project staff by setting performance expectations, monitoring performance, providing performance feedback including the preparation of performance appraisals, and as needed, providing counsel and coaching, and arranging for formal training. This also includes the recruitment of qualified information security staff.
The Director works with the business unit management and forms alliances on projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements and vendor management.
The incumbent will participate in long:range strategy planning and manage policy development to address complex business issues.
Key Job Accountabilities:
1.The incumbent is responsible to deliver operational services with respect to security technologies such as endpoint security solutions (Anti:Virus, Intrusion Prevention Systems, Data Loss Prevention, Forensics), network security solutions (Intrusion Prevention Systems, Internet Filtering/Proxy, External Email) and Security Incident and Event Management systems (Cyber Security SIEM and User Behaviour Analytics solutions).
:This requires participation in Service Delivery meetings.
:This requires participation in 911/411 or Major Incident bridge calls, etc.
:This requires reporting of availability and operational health of technologies under care.
2.The incumbent is responsible for functionally managing direct reports and or technical teams in the areas of information security.
:Provides counseling and coaching
:Recruits qualified resources for projects
:Develops departmental capability to exploit technology and develop expertise to meet future business requirements
:Ensures succession planning for all critical positions
3.The incumbent is responsible for building and maintaining a strong working relationship with peers/management within the business lines.
:Partnering with stakeholders/teams to translate business strategies/requirements and identify appropriate solutions to deliver on objectives
4.The incumbent is responsible for the overall management of the Security labs within 888 Birchmount.
:Raised floor management (inventory analysis, power needs requirements)
:Reporting of systems in use in the IS and C labs, ensuring availability for projects underway.
:Managing client requests for use of the lab.
5.The Director will meet scheduled milestones to ensure project/program objectives are met in a timely manner.
:Ensures the timely development and/or implementation of solutions
:Actively facilitate problem resolution, in anticipation of production problems.
Skills, Experiences and Functional Competencies:
The incumbent must have at least 7:10 years of IT Security and business/industry work experience and is required to keep current with emerging trends, directions and issues in information security technology and auditing frameworks, to be aware
