About the Position

We are looking for a Temporary Retail Accountant to join our team in Mississauga. This person will be responsible for pulling data from our POS system (Square), managing/ordering inventory of 6 SKUs in 3:4 pop:up locations, invoicing the client, creating journal entries and conducting reconciliations.

Scope of responsibilities:


Run reports from Square POS system.

:
Perform accounting tasks for 3:4 pop:up retail locations in Canada on behalf of Brand Momentum's client.

:
Verify sales, cost of goods sold, deposits and inventory movement entries.

:
Order inventory (6 SKUs) for retail locations.

:
Perform reconciliations on bank and credit card accounts as well as for vendor balances.

:
Assist with creation and maintenance of budgets.

:
Facilitate insightful weekly and monthly meetings with the client to keep them apprised of their situation.

:
Interpret financial information to make process improvement suggestions.

Deliver financial information and other customized reports to client in a language they can understand.

Documents financial transactions by entering account information.

Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.

Other tasks as required

Experience and Skills Requirements:


:
2+ years of proven accounting work experience

:
Experience with retail or inventory accounting

:
Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles and techniques

:
Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records

:
Accurate Data entry skills along with an analytical knack for numbers

:
Hands:on experience with spreadsheets

:
Professional Level Proficiency in English and in Microsoft Office Suite

:
Meticulous and High degree of accuracy and attention to detail and organisation.

:
Knowledge of IFRS

:
Degree/diploma in Accounting, Commerce or Finance.

:
Accounting Designation (or CPA student) is an asset
